Company and product information

The company

Over 30 years of experience in marten defense

In 1988, the company began to develop and sell marten repellent products independently.

In the new company building inaugurated in 2009, Norbert Schaub GmbH has 1200 square meters of built-up space and state-of-the-art logistics that guarantee maximum delivery readiness for the entire product range. At the same time, the property, which was extended in 2012, offers spacious premises for product development, administration and shipping.

Over the last few years, the company has developed into a specialist in marten repellents.

In view of the continuous increase in marten damage, innovative defense products have been developed based on the active principle of odorants, sound and high-voltage technology. The main focus of all the systems used is to ensure that the animals are not injured, but merely deterred for the long term. This reliably protects the vehicle from marten damage.

MARDERfix products offer a cost-effective solution for damage to vehicles, houses, carports and yards.

Frequently asked questions

We are often asked these questions
Is there undervoltage protection?2024-05-24T19:43:09+02:00

MARDERfix products have an extremely low power consumption thanks to the technology used. A MARDERfix product does not normally discharge the car battery noticeably. This protects the car from marten attacks even when it is parked for long periods. Modern vehicles often have many power consumers, even in standby mode. Depending on the type and equipment, the battery may be weakened to such an extent that you will no longer be able to start the vehicle. As mentioned, however, the additional connection of a MARDERfix product has a negligible effect on the battery load.

Why no voltage monitor / automatic switch-off?2024-05-24T19:44:11+02:00

The potential electricity savings from an automatic switch-off would be low. However, the battery, which is too weak to start the engine, is still sufficient to keep the marten repellent device in operation for weeks or even months. Marten protection to prevent consequential damage has priority! It is easier and cheaper to bypass or recharge a discharged starter battery than to repair expensive marten damage.

For frequent long downtimes, we recommend

MARDERfix-BATTERY – Art. No. 06580 – Tones in the ultra-high range. For use in vehicles or dry rooms or areas protected from the weather, e.g. carports
MARDERfix-INDOOR 230V – Art. No. 06523 – For use in dry rooms or areas protected from the weather, e.g. carports
MARDERfix scent star – Art. No. 06510 – The vehicle is protected with the scent star for approx. 6 months
MARDERfix spray – Art. No. 06520 – Protects against marten bites. The application should be repeated after approx. 14 days.

Alternatively, you can maintain the performance of the vehicle battery with a “continuous charger”. The prerequisite for this is a 230 volt connection.

Are there any safety instructions for installation?2024-05-24T19:45:49+02:00

Always switch off the marten repellent devices before starting any subsequent work:

Working in the engine compartment
Battery charging
Bridging / external start
Welding work

What does high-frequency sound mean?2024-05-24T19:46:11+02:00

High-frequency sound is a bundling of very high tones, some of which are no longer perceptible to the human ear.
The sound is pulsating so that the marten does not get used to it.

Is high-voltage defense dangerous for people?2024-05-24T19:47:05+02:00

The high voltage generated by our marten repellent devices is harmless, as only a small amount of energy is discharged. It can be uncomfortable in exceptional cases, e.g. with pacemakers. Therefore, affix the enclosed warning stickers in a clearly visible position in the engine compartment during installation.

Can I also dispose of the devices?2024-05-24T19:48:17+02:00

Electrical appliances and packaging material do not belong in the hands of children. Always dispose of packaging material in an environmentally friendly manner. Do not dispose of old appliances in the residual waste, only at recycling collection points for electronic waste.
